Post what kind of recon you are here, I'm interested to see who what plays what.

I've got a ranged damage sniper rifle/smg rifle build, trying to play sniper mainly at the moment to see what use the slow projectile can have in large scale PvP

Level 4 sniper (the first one you get, not the one that reduces healing)

Level 4 range stim

Level 3 sprint stealth

Level 3 scanner

Level 1 bionics

I use bionics for getting away from meleecons, and all the other skills for damage boosts basically. When you're sniping in GA even 5% damage can mean the different between a kill and someone running back to a healing crate

Are we all playing recon? tongue

I'm going with a rifle/sniper build as well, supported with decoy and mines/bombs.

I'm strongly planning on staying recon at launch smile

There are indeed too many damn recons, but sniping is the only thing that interests me in this game, because it's not hitscan its slowish projectile.

In AvA matches there is a use for snipers or bombers, maybe a riflecon, don't see much call for the decoy skill though because people learn to tell when it is a decoy

4 prot debuff rifle
4 emp bomb
4 scaner
2 spring stealth (still testing it, might go back to sprint one)
1 biotics

Sniping ftw, quite challenging but very rewarding.

Why pull aggro when they go down in 3/4 sniper shots tongue

I tried spring stealth and didn't like it, not enough of a jump boost to get away. I seemed to be able to jump high enough to grab ledges, they get shot to pieces as I pulled myself up

I was thinking mainly for when we're attacking and the nests are in the forcefield rooms.

I've always been able to find a safe spot to snipe from that avoids forcefields, either from above or just somewhere that isn't being focused on. Mainly from above though

Im a pure dmg sniper spec, and i run with the following gear:

Sniper Ballista IV

Spring Stealth III

Mines I

Range Stim IV

EMP III

I outdamage just about anyone in PvE and i do quite a good job killing things in PvP!

I used to run with Mines IV, but i figured EMP is quite useful to have, especially to back up any attack in AvA, and also in PvE wink

I wouldn't really call that a pure damage sniper build, seeing as you don't take scanner for the 10% boost in damage, but still cool. Interesting how you use bombs and the sniper too

Well, yeah i have thought about the scanner... But seeing as i 2 shot most ppl as it is now, i really wouldnt wanna bother with another device to worry about, id rather use the emp to help stun in avas.

My pure dmg build thing comes into it on the skills.

Ill post them here some day when i bother tongue

Certainly against players, but I find that the extra 10% can mean alot when you have the damage resistance reduction skills on your sniper when shooting turrets that are being healed. It also helps out for when you need to swap to the SMG in the middle of a fight

The VS is probably a good thing to have for taking down sentries. I agree

I dont htink i have every used the SMG since i got the sniperrifle.... So i wont be doing that. Also i do like the IV Mines, as they can lock of areas, and catch ppl off guard.

Give it a go, it's suprisingly good. Especially against medics, you can get more consistant damage on them by uncloaking behind and unloading a load of damage boosted SMG rounds into a medic. SMG still has a place because even if you're the best sniper in the world, that bullet travel time is still gonna sting you and make you miss if the medic is dodging well. Still I prefer vanilla sniper because of the way it rips up robos
